Wolfgang Rihm sees the premiere of his new opera Dionysus at the Salzburg Festival on July 27. The performance is part of an unprecedented composer portrait series titled "Kontinent Rihm" at the Festival from July 27 through August 22.

On Monday, August 16, The Tanglewood Festival of Contemporary Music presents the US premiere of Colin Matthews’ orchestral work Turning Point. On July 8 Bernard Rands' "now again"–fragments from Sappho saw its Tanglewood debut at Seiji Ozawa Hall.
