We are pleased to announce that Toru Takemitsu's suite from Akira Kurosawa's internationally acclaimed film Ran is now available through Schott Music in all territories. Universally recognized as one of Kurosawa's most moving films, Ran celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. To honor the occasion, New York's Film Forum is screening the film for two weeks in February. Takemitsu's breathtaking score is an integral part of the film, adding to Kurosawa's directorial and visual mastery to make Ran a true masterpiece. Takemitsu's Ran Suite is a four-movement work derived from the film score. Schott is pleased to offer the first definitive version of the suite for rental, authorized by Studio Canal, in the work's history.
