Arvo Pärt: From a Stage in Switzerland to a Crypt in Brooklyn

On October 26, the Orchestra della Svizerra Italiana, directed by Francesco Bossaglia, joins forces with the Compagnia Virgillo Sieni, to present an evening of music by Arvo Pärt, with dance choreographed by Virgilio Sieni, at the Teatro LAC in Lugano, Switzerland. The performance includes Arvo Pärt’s TrisagionSilouan’s Song | My soul yearns after the LordGreater AntiphonsFür Lennart in memoriamDa pacem Domine, and Cantus in Memory of Benjamin Britten.

Additionally, New York audiences have the opportunity to experience the music of Arvo Pärt in a wonderfully unexpected setting. The String Orchestra of Brooklyn, under the baton of Eli Spindel, performs Pärt’s Fratres for string orchestra and percussion at the Green-Wood Cemetery Crypt in Brooklyn on October 8-10.
