Danny Elfman's <em>Concerto for Violin and Orchestra "Eleven Eleven"</em> Now Available from Faber Music

We are delighted to report that Faber Music London has signed a publishing agreement with legendary film composer, Danny Elfman in respect of his new Concerto for Violin and Orchestra “Eleven Eleven.”  Mr. Elfman's Violin Concerto was co-commissioned by Prague Proms, Royal Scottish National Orchestra and Stanford Live and composed for violinist Sandy Cameron, who gave the premiere in Prague in June 2017. Cameron was joined by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra and John Mauceri for both the Prague performance and the German premiere at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. The Concerto receives its US premiere on March 10-11, 2018 with the Stanford University Symphony in California, before the Royal Scottish National Orchestra gives the UK premiere in Glasgow in June. The RSNO will also record the piece for future release. In September 2018, JoAnn Falletta brings "Eleven Eleven" to the Virginia Symphony with Sandy Cameron as soloist. Elfman notes:

“I’m aiming for a concept with my violin concerto that’s very tricky. To answer the question: Is it possible to write challenging orchestra music that’s not alienating to someone who listens to film music, and more specifically my film music, but at the same time, to not make it feel like film music, but something more? This was a very difficult challenge but that was my goal.”
