World Premiere of Akira Nishimura’s Oboe Concerto “Shijin - The Four Symbols”

Norichika Iimori leads the Izumi Sinfonietta and soloist Thomas Indermühle in the world premiere of Akira Nishimura’s Oboe Concerto “Shijin - The Four Symbols” at Izumi Hall in Osaka on February 10. The Izumi Sinfonietta commissioned the work from their Music Director, Akira Nishimura. It was Nishimura who proposed the orchestra’s founding and since their debut in 2000, he has supervised their series of concerts titled “New Journeys Toward the Future of Music” which have brought countless new listeners to contemporary music at Izumi Hall.
