Zen-On Presents its 24th Annual Contemporary Music Concert in Tokyo

Dec. 04, 2017

Zen-On presents five new chamber works for soloists or duos as part of their 24th annual contemporary music concert “Groupe des quatre et ses ami(e)s” (The Group of Four and their friends) on December 8 at the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan Hall. The program, celebrating the theme “The Origin of the Symphony - In Monochromatic and Two-Tone,” features music from esteemed composers Shin-ichiro Ikebe, Tokuhide Niimi, Akira Nishimura, Hitomi Kaneko, and Kenji Sakai.  The innovative series was created by the Japanese publishing house as a positive way of promoting and propagating new music. Pieces commissioned especially for this concert will be published by Zen-On following their premiere performances on the series.

(World-premiere of Shin-ichiro's Bivalence XI for two voices, 2016, performed at last year's annual concert)
